Engine: Reliable SISU Citius 84CTA engines provide a rugged, efficient engine with electronic controls to ensure high torque, quicker governor response, shorter service times, and increased fuel economy. The SISU Citius 84CTA engine delivers 300 hp (224 Kw) for the Massey Ferguson® 9690 @ 2,100 rpm. When the engine rpm is pulled down to 1,900 rpm a power bulge of 321 hp (239 Kw) is available. Feeding: The front beater features helical vanes to provide a smooth, gentle, yet, positive engagement of the crop mass. The front beater offers quieter operation, better feeding across a wide range of crops, improved grain quality, and improved straw quality. The Massey Ferguson 9000 Series use an 18” (457 mm) diameter helical vane feed conveyor to feed the rotor inlet and provide rock protection. The helical vane conveyor provides efficient and quiet operation and has the following three primary functions; (1) Accelerates the crop leaving the feed chain, (2) Separates stones from the crop, (3) Feeds the rotor 360°. The opposing vanes on the feed beater supply an even flow of material to the rotor via a conical shaped rotor intake housing. A blended shape rotor transition intake provides a 360° rotor feed. This feature gently feeds the rotor to reduce crop damage while increasing rotor intake capacity. Advanced Technology Rotor™ (ATR): The heart of the Massey Ferguson® 9000 Series is its' unique threshing and separating system. The ATR (Advanced Technology Rotor) is designed to maximize efficiencies inherent to rotary threshing technology. The patented intake and discharge design and the largest rotor in the industry at 140 in. (3,556 mm), maximizes rotary threshing efficiency and controls crop flow. The ATR threshes the crop during multiple passes, gently allowing the grain to fall through the concaves. Any remaining grain is separated from the crop residue by centrifugal force as the crop passes over the separator grates. The harvesting action of the ATR improves crop quality, reduces losses, and lowers operating costs. Direct rotor discharge needs no additional beaters to move residue away from the rotor. Direct discharge reduces machine complexity, horsepower consumption, and crop residue damage for baling. Cleaning System: Final crop cleaning and returns separation is done by the cleaning system. As crop falls from the grain pan, it cascades to the chaffer via a cascade chaffer pan. The reciprocating motion of the chaffer and air from the cleaning fan, float the residue rearward and accomplishes initial cleaning of the crop. The Max Flow cleaning fan, chaffer, and lower sieve make up a closed pressurized shoe assembly.  A large volume of air provides screening and pneumatic cleaning. The Massey Ferguson 9690 includes a 6768 sq. in. (4.36 m2) cleaning area and the 9790 & 9895 include 8296 sq. in. (5.35 m2) cleaning area. Bin Capacity: The grain enters the clean grain system through the lower sieve. The sieve adjustment and a large volume of air that ensures the operator that the crop is clean. A cross auger moves the crop to a large clean grain elevator. Bolt-on rubber paddles carry the grain to the grain tank where a bin fill auger evenly fills the large 300 bu. (10,570 L) grain tank in the Massey Ferguson 9690 & 9790 combine and the large 350 bu. (12,334 L) in the Massey Ferguson 9895 Grain tank extensions equipped with quick release latches fold down easily reducing the transport height to 144 in. (3657 mm) for storage and transporting on the 9690 & 9790 combine.  The Massey Ferguson 9895 extensions fold down to reduce the transport height to 147 in. (3.73 m). Unloading Rate: The new “Direct High Volume” unloader system lets you spend more of your day harvesting the crop than handling the crop.  The Massey Ferguon 9690 & 9790 combine have an unloading rate of 2.5 bu/sec (88 L/sec) and the new 9895 combine has the industry leading high of 4.5 bu/sec (158 L/sec) which reduces time spent unloading, so more time is available for harvesting, increasing productivity. The unloading auger has ample reach to unload into grain carts and trucks, even with 36 ft. (10.9 m) headers. This feature reduces the chance of headers being damaged or unloading auger hitting trucks or carts. The auger has a 171in. (4.34 m) discharge height and a 292 in. (7.4 m) reach from the center. Operators Area: The Massey Ferguson operators cab offers a new level of comfort and convenience with excellent header visibility, an adjustable Grammer air ride seat and a seat mounted control console that is adjustable to fit each individual.  The multi function “Heads up” monitor system keeps the operator informed of the combine systems performance at a glance. The Massey Ferguson ComforTech II™ features 61.2 sq. ft. (5.7 m2) of tinted glass, 121.4 cu. ft. (3.4 cu m) of interior volume for a comfortable operating environment. The door entry is 41.5 in. (1054 mm) wide at the upper section making for a comfortable entry and exit. A large rear cab window gives the operator a clear view into the grain tank.  ComfortTech II™ incorporates a state of the art CAN Bus electronics and control system while featuring the Heads-Up microprocessor based engine and shaft monitoring system. Other features include system diagnostics, interlock, environmental control and with the FIELDSTAR® II system, flexlogging of combine functions via CAN Bus interface. The unique GTA Console II incorporates touch screen flexibility and color liquid crystal display.
